In Serbia, nella regione orientale che confina con la Romania i cimiteri hanno tombe di persone vive. Passeggiando per le tombe si può vedere come alcune lapidi siano completamente finite: decorate con una foto, con un testo per familiari, la data di nascita ma, sorprendentemente, a molte manca la data di morte del defunto. La ragione e’ che queste persone infatti non sono ancora morte e queste tombe sono per i vivi.
A causa dello spopolamento dovuto alla guerra che ha portato molti serbi all'estero, i villaggi, soprattutto nelle aree rurali , sono ora abitate per lo più da anziani che hanno letteralmente dovuto scavarsi la fossa.
In un area dei cimiteri ci sono le tombe per le persone in vita mentre in un’ altra zone ci sono delle camere per chi è morto. Per camera si intende letteralmente, una riproduzione di un ambiente reale con immagini sulle pareti, tavolo e sedie, divano, armadio, televisione e talvolta anche un telefono cellulare...

...In these rural regions paganism, religion and superstitions fused together generating a mixture of costumes and behaviors that, even if based on irrational beliefs, are magnificent and fascinating because
instinctive and humane. Symbols were produced and images created to bring back memories of the dead and celebrate their passage to other life in instinctive and shapeless art forms.
The documentary will try to show how, in these circumstances, accepting to believe in something irrational and not recognized through any logical thought will make death more acceptable and life more interesting than the grey, flat and arid interpretation given by the rational thought to which western societies are heading.
